Hibs entertain Whitburn in our opening home fixture in the Superleague South. As Hibs look to build on their opening day win against Kennoway Star Hearts, title favourites Whitburn will be attempting to put Saturday's surprise 0-3 defeat to Fauldhouse United behind them.
In the league fixture at Memorial Park last season (on 18th August), Thornton got their first points of the season with a 5-2 win. After Reece Duncan gave the visitors the lead, Hibs then went on to rack up a 4-1 half-time lead courtesy of goals from Shaun Keatings ('that goal' from just inside Whitburn's half), Daniel McNab, Chris Ireland and Andy Adam (just the 35 yards for this one!). Darren Tomaszewski pulled a goal back for Whitburn in the 75th minute before Nathan Kiristino headed in another for Hibs six minutes from time.
