Our visitors to Memorial Park this weekend have had an excellent unbeaten start to the league campaign and are currently top with 19 points from the seven games played so far. Their away record is 100%; with three wins out of three and no goals conceded. Despite what can only be described as an inconsistent set of recent results, Hibs' convincing win at Armadale saw us jump up into second spot in the table.
We met Fauldhouse five times last season in the various competitions with the last meeting in the Superleague in Memorial Park being on 6th April 2019. Adam Drummond netted in the third minute before Garry Thomson doubled the lead thirteen minutes later. It was to be 4-0 by the 26th minute through goals from Ben Anthony and Garry Thomson.
Fraser Scott netted for Fauldhouse just before the interval and then Michael Wallace scored from the penalty spot shortly after the resumption to bring the visitors back into the game.
There was to be no further scoring until the 82nd minute when Adam Drummond headed in Matthew Robertson's free-kick. Stuart Drummond smashed a penalty kick against the bar before he netted the final goal of the game in the last minute when he headed home Daniel McNab's Rabona-style cross to make it 6-2.
In a game that already falls into the 'must win' category if we are to maintain a challenge to Fauldhouse, Hibs will be missing Chris Ireland who starts his two-match ban following his red card last Saturday.
