The Hibs will be looking to bounce back from last weekend's disappointing defeat to Livingston United when they take on West Calder United in the Preliminary Round of the Southern Section of the East Region League Cup.
West Calder are currently bottom of the East Region Premier South, but will be looking to show they can compete in a one-off game such as this.
It is 50 years since the sides last met in competitive action. This was in the Fife and Lothians Cup on 25th October 1969, when a double from Carswell and a Patterson counter saw Thornton win 3-1 in the season we reached the semi-final.
Hibs will be missing both Daniel McNab and Stuart Drummond from the squad as they see out their suspensions after seeing red last Saturday.
The winners will travel to face Rosyth in the First Round.
