It was Thornton Hibs who eventually came out on top in this league game played at a sunny Memorial Park.

The first goal-scoring opportunity fell to the visitors' Stuart Martin however Craig Doctor proved equal to the task with a fine save but at the other end Andy McCallion enjoyed better fortune with an effort that took a slight deflection before trickling over the line to give the Hibs a 14th minute lead.

Martin saw another effort saved by Doctor but Cammy Young was more successful with a screamer from 20 yards to level affairs in the 32nd minute.

It was Jamie McNeish who put the home side back in front in the 56th minute with a low drive after McCallion's perfect pass sent him racing clear. John Soutar came close to extending Thornton's lead with a volley that was deflected onto the post then a wee while later McCallion saw his strike from the angle hit the same post.

When Daniel McNab made it three in the 87th minute it looked all over bar the shouting but barely sixty seconds later Kenny O'Brien netted from the spot after Lewis Rodger brought down Yassine Chakiry.

Five minutes into added time, Thornton substitutes Garry Thomson and Harris Jolicoeur combined with the former setting up the latter who coolly clipped the ball over the advancing Lewis Whitelaw into the unguarded net.
