Matthew signed in the summer of 2016 having previously been with Rosyth Juniors. As well as playing juvenile football with Eastvale and Dalbeath Colts, he was also on the books of East Fife as a youth.

Matty left the club in August 2023 to join Burntisland Shipyard.
