Jim originally joined the Thornton Hibs' committee in 2006, but left to take over as assistant manager at Thornton Amateurs. He rejoined the Hibs' committee in the summer of 2007 and was elected vice-chairman in June 2009.

A man who took on a number of roles with enthusiasm, Jim would be found helping out with the kit and taking entrance money at the War Memorial gate end of the ground.

Jim was always keen to give the match officials some ‘encouragement’!

After suffering a heart attack, Jim passed away in March 2024.
